The Butt Dance Around the Tree at the 2022 Gou Cao Festival

The Mong ethnic community of Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province, continues to preserve and maintain Gau Cao, a traditional festival of the Hmong people. According to the concept, this is an opportunity for people to thank the gods, ask heaven and earth to give their children health and luck to do business, and pray for favorable rain and good harvests.

This is an activity aimed at preserving and restoring the values of traditional folklore heritage of the Mong ethnic group in Tram Tau district, and at the same time through the organization of the festival so that people have more proper awareness of the Party's guidelines, lines, and the State's policies towards ethnic minorities in general and Mong ethnic people in particular.

This is also an occasion to strengthen solidarity, love of homeland, country, and national pride. Grassroots authorities, clans, and people expressed their affection, exchanged, learned, and committed to doing good deeds, wishing for a safe and prosperous New Year. Huaiwen
